I read Killshot

First book that I've read for fun in 10 years. When it comes to the book's story, it is a pretty basic chase film. It's strength is in the characters. (ESPECIALLY Armand "Blackbird" Degas and Richie Nix) The characters of the Mom, Donna, and Ferris were the next best characters.

SPOILERS

I think that this film won't stretch Mickey Rourke's acting muscles. He can play a badass, streetwise gangster in his sleep. The best role in the film will be Joseph Gordon Levitt as an idiot/psycho speed killer. Depending on how Brick does, THIS WILL MAKE HIM FAMOUS. This will be his Street Smart (Morgan Freeman).

Diane Lane will play a strong character in the end. (Her character reminds me of Francis McDormand's in Blood Simple)

I am a month away from being done school

I am scared to death of going out into the real world. The thing about me is that I don't really feel like I'm about to be 24 years old. The weird thing is that my dad was my age when he got married and was 26 years old when he had his first kid. I am barely 17 years old at the rate he matured. Don't tell him that I said that. Let me continue this discussion after I talk about some unimportant pop culture crap.

Christian Cage is in TNA

Saw him cut an excellent promo tonight at the TNA Genesis PPV. I have to watch the DVD recording because I was surfing the net through most of the PPV. I did enjoy the six man main event which saw Jeff Jarrett and America's Most Wanted versus Rhino and Team 3-D. It was a good garbage match.

Saw Mr. Movie yesterday

I visited my friend and Philly radio host, Steve Friedman at the Philly Sterling Glen retirement home. I watched a movie with him and my friends, the two Mikes. We saw a weird British cartoon called Watership Down which is about Bunnies. It was pretty bloody for a cartoon about rabbits.

I also saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with my friends the Two Mikes at the Philly Ritz East (THE major art house chain in the area) It was good. It has some great lines and a hot actress named Michelle Monaghan.

Diet

I'm still fat.

Back to the main point

I realize now why people get lame when they get older. When you are on your own, you don't have TIME to focus on unimportant shit like you used to. You also get sick of seeing shit that you know you won't like from experience. I think that also explains why people tend to get more conservative when they get older.
People in their own minds do not have time to look at all sides of an issue, so they prejudge things and go with the thing that makes them more comfortable. When you have kids you all of a sudden have to worry about the kids seeing porn and hearing Eminem saying F--k and S--t.

The reason why I am bringing all this s--t up is because I am worried about going into the real world. I have to move to some where with public transportation because I don't drive. I have to lose SOME weight if I want to attract people of the opposite sex. I also have to get into a body rhythm. I am typing this at 11:45 PM and I don't feel tired. I got up at 11:30 today, but I am still ramped up. Enough with this complaining crap...

Killshot

This and Randall Wallace's Love and Honor are the first book that I have started to seriously read for just pleasure...EVER. I read a Deep Space Nine book in 95 because I wanted to know what was going to happen in the Season opener of the year. Its weird for you to see me read (other than the net) for more that 5 hours a YEAR.

I am reading Killshot because Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon Levitt are going to costar in the film adaptation as Armand "Blackbird" Degas and Richie Nix respectively. They are two mismatched hitmen. I only read about 25% of the book, but so far the character of Degas seems perfect for Rourke. He is a quiet, no nonsense killer who has seen everything and is a bad ass mofo. Levitt's character is a version of the Joe Pesci hitman, but he is more of a comedic character (so far) and more of loser than Jimmy was in Goodfellas. People are going to finally notice Levitt when this movie comes out.

RIP Eddie Guerrero

No more lying and cheating anymore, Holmes.
