Inception
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Winter's Bone
Animal Kingdom
The Rest of the movie, Gasland
Cyrus
The Killer Inside Me
BTW: Just saw After Dark, My Sweet. Felt a little too "80's" in its editing, but Jason Patric was terrific

Boy is this blog amateur!
I seriously can't spell worth a damn. Its kind of weird being up at 11:42pm on a Sunday night. I know I shouldn't, but I do it anyway. I always wonder why. BTW: I spend 20 bucks for "sport peppers" which apparently are essential for any chicago style hotdog and my dad who is from Chicago HAS NEVER HEARD OF THEM!
This blog is weirdly too personal, in my opinion. All though I do try to follow some rules.
1. Never bitch about work, friends, or loved ones. EVER.
2. Never talk about your love life
3. Try to keep the language PG-13. Take that Mother F---ers.
4. Don't post pictures of friends or family members.
I have been trying to improve myself this year. I am going to make this blog more professional and less stream of conscience. I plan on posting thoughts about movies, TV (Breaking Bad rules, Dexter is overrated although season 4 was good), and politics.
I also love having a permenant record that makes it impossible for me ever to run for office.

OH MY GOD, I was an Idiot in 2005-2007
-I made predictions about Rourke getting snubbed for an Oscar for Sin City 2 and Killshot! Killshot was delayed 3 years and is only now getting released on video.
-I thought crash had good acting, but that Hillary Swank wasn't good in Million Dollar baby.
-I was a intolerant democratic party cheerleader. To be fair, this was during the first half of the Bush second term. I was too sore from Bush/Kerry.
-I posted all of my neurotic thoughts about my weight and sleep habits. News Flash: I am posting this at 4:10 in the morning and I am still over 300 pounds.

I can't wait for this freaking movie
[I got to stop posting "picture-reliant" posts- Me in 2010]
Tom Hardy as the British inmate, Bronson.
I have a link to the movie site in the title of this post. Just click it.

I really need to go to sleep.
NIGHT FOLKS. I am just artificially making this blog longer.
It looks bad if I only post one line so...
There...
you...
Go!

Why do I have insomnia?
I have posted more on this blog in the last week than what I have done in 2008 and 2009 COMBINED.
I really should get off the computer now. I have work at 12 noon tomorrow. I hope I will be "Fresh" tomorrow. I have had really bad insomnia for the last two weeks. That film festival really put my internal sleep clock through the ringer.
I know that its the internet that keeps me up. If I would just watch the netflix movie that has been on my desk for a month instead of looking up Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, and Joe Carnahan EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN NIGHT AT 2 AM, maybe I would get some sleep. Maybe?
I can't believe my nephew will be 2 years old in a month.
AMAZING. I AM 27 AND I DON'T HAVE A SET SLEEP SCHEDULE.
In no way is that depressing.

In Treatment is the bomb

John Mahoney is the man as Walter this year on In Treatment.
I am currently digging Breaking Bad, but not the current season of South Park.
I have so much to do and am so far behind
Too Do List: (yes I know this is going to be public)
-Your mom (just kidding)

Philadelphia Film Festival Wrap up
I saw around 20 movies during the festival. That was down from last year when I had a badge. I always end up hating the artform after about 5 days, but I still do the festival every year.
Great Films:
Merry Gentleman: Michael Keaton's directorial debut. It has an Oscar worthy performance by Kelly MacDonald (from No Country for Old Men and Trainspotting). Bobby Carnavale gives a good performance in just one scene as her ex-hubby.
The Hurt Locker: Jeremy Renner really shows his worth as an actor with this gritty movie by Kathryn Bigelow (Strange Days, Near Dark, Point Break). The first good Iraq War II movie.
500 Days of Summer: Joseph Gordon-Levitt can do it all. High School detectives. Gay hookers. Brain Damaged Bank Robbers. Here is shows that he has a "light touch." It doesn't mean that the movie is inconsequential. It just means that the guy could be a comedy lead if he wants too.
Boy, Interrupted. Probably the best documentary of the year. Extremely difficult to watch. It concerns a suicide of a 15 year old boy. The film is directed by his parents, who are film makers.
Good Films:
Sugar: The first half is incredible to watch. You get to see the rise of a young Dominican baseball player through the American Minor League system. I think the film loses steam once it arrives in New York, but it is still a worthy movie. Still, hands down the best baseball movie of the decade.
Landscape Number 2: Slovic movie about a art heist gone wrong.
Awesome sex scenes + gruesome violence= My recommendation
Goodbye Solo: The new film from the director of Chop Shop. An engaging, but sad dual character study of a African cab driver and an elderly white man in North Carolina. Neo-Realism at its finest. A little slow, though.
Moon: The debut film from David Bowie's son. Sam Rockwell is the man. A throw back sci-fi film to the 70's "thinking man" films like Solaris, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Logan's Run.
American Violet: Great supporting performances by Alfre Woodard, Michael O'Keefe and Will Patton. It also features a strong performance by Nicole Beharie. A little too much of a Stanley Donovan liberal message movie for my tastes, but I am still recommending it.
